Dr. Mahendra Jain is a
trained Senior Neonatologist from KEM Hospital, Mumbai. KEM Hospital Mumbai is India's well-known,
reputed Apex center for neonatal care. Trained neonatologists from KEM
Hospital Mumbai are doing excellent work not only in India but also in
countries like the United States of America, Australia, Canada etc. In his over 17
years of neonatology career, Dr. Mahendra Jain successfully established three “level
III NICU” centers namely NICU in
Geetanjali Medical College, Udaipur, Surya Hospital Jaipur, and AIIMS Bhopal. He
has also developed state of art Milk Bank in AIIMS Bhopal. He is also
developed baby friendly postnatal care in AIIMS Bhopal where more than 95% baby
discharged on mothers' milk/ breastfeeding and rarely do babies require formula
milk. In all centres under his management newborn survival was more than 90%.
He saves 450 grams weighted extreme premature newborn. He did excellent work in high-frequency
ventilation, care of extremely premature newborns, total parental nutrition, and high-risk follow–up care. He has written several chapters in neonatology textbooks. He
organized a state state-level neonatology conference in Udaipur in 2017, and the 1st
west-zone Neocon in 2019 where Rajasthan, Gujrat, Maharashtra, Daman & Diu, and Goa states participated. And lastly, he organized the National Conference of
Kangaroo Mother Care (KMCCON2020) in AIIMS Bhopal. Dr Mahendra Jain did an excellent
job as honorary secretary from 2017 to 2019 of the Rajasthan state chapter of NNF and joint state
academic coordinator of neonatal resuscitation of the IAP Chapter from 2020 to 2023
in MP.
